All Hidden Achievements in Rust

How many achievements are there on Steam and why some of them are hidden

For players who enjoy completing Steam achievements, Rust offers a real challenge when it comes to unlocking everything. At the moment, the game has over 80 achievements, but some of them are hidden by default and do not appear in the list until they are completed.

Hidden achievements are intentional. They do not guide the player or explain the conditions in advance. This approach encourages exploration of game mechanics, unconventional gameplay, and attention to detail. Until a hidden achievement is unlocked, Steam does not show its description or icon, which is why many players do not even realize they are missing part of the content.

In this article, I will go over all currently existing hidden achievements in Rust and explain their unlock conditions.

List of hidden achievements

Below is the full and up-to-date list of hidden achievements that do not appear on Steam until they are earned.

Glutton

Condition - completely fill the food bar.

Any type of food works. You need to restore your hunger bar to 500 units, after which the achievement unlocks automatically. The food type does not matter, only the full value.

This is one of the easiest hidden achievements and is often unlocked accidentally within the first few hours of gameplay.

Sealbreaker

Condition - completely fill the water bar.

Works the same way as Glutton, but with hydration. You need to reach 250 water units. You can drink from rivers, barrels, bottles, or canteens.

This achievement is also commonly unlocked without the player noticing it.

Giddy Up!

Condition - travel 1 kilometer while riding a horse.

The distance is cumulative and does not have to be completed in one ride. You can move slowly, stop, and continue later. The only requirement is that you remain mounted on the horse.

A great achievement for players who frequently use horses to move between RTs.

Save The Planet

Condition - recycle 5 identical empty tuna cans in a recycler.

The cans must be of the same type. Simply place them into the recycler and wait for the process to finish. The achievement unlocks immediately.

Often completed by accident, leaving many players confused about how they earned it.

Something of a Scientist Myself

Condition - kill 5 scientists.

Only standard NPC scientists count. They can be found at various RTs. The kills do not need to be consecutive and can be done over time.

The best way to complete this achievement is while farming Oil Rig or Cargo Ship.

On The Deck

Condition - land a minicopter on the Oil Rig helipad.

This achievement requires careful piloting. You must fully land the minicopter, not just touch the platform. It is easiest to complete on low-pop servers or during off-peak hours.

I’m the Captain Now

Condition - reach the captain’s bridge on the Cargo Ship.

The Cargo Ship is one of the most dangerous events in Rust. You do not need to kill anyone to unlock this achievement - simply reaching the captain’s bridge is enough.

This is especially difficult to complete solo when the ship is actively contested by other players.

The hardest and rarest hidden achievements

Among all hidden achievements, the following are considered the most difficult:

  • I’m the Captain Now for solo players

  • On The Deck due to the difficulty of landing a minicopter for beginners

  • Something of a Scientist Myself on high-pop servers

These achievements often remain unfinished even for players with hundreds of hours in the game.

Tips and tricks for achievement hunters

If you want to intentionally unlock all hidden achievements instead of relying on chance, keep the following tips in mind:

  • Low-pop servers make achievements related to Oil Rig and Cargo Ship much easier.

  • Do not be afraid of dying - none of these achievements require you to keep your loot.

  • Combine achievement hunting with regular farming to avoid wasting time.

  • Always check Steam after unusual actions - hidden achievements often unlock unexpectedly.

Conclusion

Hidden achievements are a small but important layer of Rust that adds depth and variety to the gameplay. They do not require perfect aim or profitable raids, but instead reward exploration, experimentation, and attention to detail.

If you want to complete your Steam profile to 100 percent and see Rust from a different perspective, hunting for hidden achievements is an excellent additional challenge.
